Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series on Sunday Night at SSP
Contact: Todd Fisher (717) 292-1696 -FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series Begins on Sunday Night at SSP NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (May 23, 2005) – This Sunday night, May 29, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will feature the Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series paying $1,000 to the winner. Each Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature will qualify 24 starters for the regular 20-lap events. Also racing on Sunday night will be the Street Stocks and Penn Mar Vintage Club. This is the first of eight races for the Super Sportsman at SSP that culminates with the Inaugural 75-lap Trail Motors Championship on Sunday, September 4, paying $2,500 to the winner. For the championship race, there will be 12 automatic qualifiers for the event determined by the winners of the following events: 1) Silver Spring (Sat., May 28); 2) SSP (Sun., May 29); 3) SSP (Sun., June 5); 4) Port Royal (Sat., June 15); 5) SSP (Sun., June 19); 6) Williams Grove (Fri., June 24); 7) Silver Spring (Sat., July 2); 8) SSP (Sun., July 3); 9) Lincoln (Wed., July 20); 10) SSP (Sun., July 24); 11) SSP (Sun., Aug. 7); 12) SSP (Sun., Aug. 21). The remainder of the field for the championship will qualify through heats and a last chance race. All Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series events at SSP will require the use of Hoosier Tires on all four corners with a Hoosier 105/18-15 plated (HTMA or HTE) spec tire and only D-12 or D-15 compounds are permitted. Gates open in the pit area and grandstands at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand ticket prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12) $4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00. The raindate for this event is Sunday, June 12 with the same time schedule. SSP continues its Repeat Fan Discount in which there will be a $2.00 discount for each person with a ticket stub from the May 26 event only. For example, $2.00 off an Adult ticket for May 29 with and Adult ticket stub from the May 26 event. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings to be held during the season for great prizes. Last season, the grand prize was two tickets to the NASCAR race in October at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina.
