      Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick Announces 2005 Event, Which Marks The

Start Of Second Century Of Competition For The Oldest Trophy In Motor Sports

Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick will announce the 2005 Chrysler Jeep Superstores Detroit APBA Gold Cup hydroplane race today in an 11 a.m. news conference in his conference room. The event is July 15-17, 2005 on the Detroit River.

The launch announcement will be made jointly by Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick, Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association President Jim Schebil, and Detroit River Regatta Association Race Director Tom Bertolini.
