Toyota Port Newark Expansion Adds 90 New Jobs

               Distribution Center.

        Why:   This $20 million expansion on 83 acres now processes
               220,000 imported Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles a year and
               distributes vehicles to 371 dealers in 13 states. The
               expansion has increased employment from 150 to 240. As a
               diverse and inclusive employer, the Vehicle Distribution
               Center's associates represent more than 25 different ethnic
               backgrounds. As an environmentally-friendly facility, the VDC
               has ISO 14001 Certification, a recycling rate of more than
               90%, uses electrically-powered shuttle vehicles, and enforces
               a No-Idling Policy.
