FRANZIL JOINS ARCA STAFF
TOLEDO, OH May 24, 2005; Jackie Franzil has joined the full time administrative staff of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) as Media/PR/Marketing Assistant.
Franzil, 21, of Dearborn Heights Michigan, is an honors student in her final year in the Journalism & Political Science programs at Michigan State University. Her father Jack Franzil was the 1987 ARCA Street Stock champion at Flat Rock Speedway and in addition to working as a track official on race nights at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway, Franzil has driven in a number of Enduro 250 races at Flat Rock.
The Media/PR/Marketing position came available based on the departure of Zachary Drager, who will operate his own PR/Marketing company, Drager Marketing, based in Hickory, North Carolina.
“We appreciate the contribution Zachary has made to ARCA, and wish him well in his new venture,” said ARCA President Ron Drager. “At the same time, we welcome Jackie. At ARCA we believe it’s always beneficial to have full time employees who have a solid racing background, qualities which both Zachary and Jackie possess.”
Franzil will report to ARCA PR/Media Director Don Radebaugh and work in the department overseen by ARCA VP Communications & Marketing Mark Gundrum.
ARCA, founded in 1953, has 95 motorsports events on its 2005 sanctioned-event schedule. Among those racing events/activities are the ARCA RE/MAX Series, ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, Flat Rock Speedway in Michigan and Toledo Speedway in Ohio.
