Fuel Cell Vehicle Ride-and-Drive at 5th Annual CONGRESSIONAL FUEL CELL EXPO on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON--May 23, 2005--The bi-partisan sponsorship by Representative Nancy Johnson (R-CT), Representative John Larson (D-CT), Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is enabling more than 30 fuel cell industry leaders to exhibit at the 2005 USFCC CONGRESSIONAL FUEL CELL EXPO on May 2, 20054, 2005, in the Cannon Caucus Room of the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The event will also feature fuel cell vehicles available for a ride-and-drive.DaimlerChrysler, General Motors and Nissan will each have fuel cell vehicles participating in the ride & drive. As a special attraction, the SunLine U.S. Army NAC Peterbilt 385 Class 8 tractor will be driven from the West Coast to Capitol Hill. The cars will be available on Garfield Circle - at the base of the Capitol directly across from the Botanical Gardens - for a Ride-and-Drive by Members of Congress, their staff and the public. The Ride-and-Drive will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The USFCC has arranged for Georgetown University's fuel cell bus to shuttle interested parties to tour DC's first hydrogen filling station on Benning Road. Participants will get a first hand look at the first functional hydrogen and gasoline filling station in the country. To participate, simply meet in front of the Madison Library of Congress Building on Independence Ave., halfway down the block from the corner of Independence Ave. and First Street S.E., at 1:30 pm. The first 30 people in line will be able to ride.
The USFCC Congressional Fuel Cell EXPO is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. Attendees will receive a free EXPO memento. The EXPO is a function of the US Fuel Cell Council, the trade association of the fuel cell industry, and supported by the Department of Energy.
