HEBRON, Ohio. (May 22, 2005) ­ Tony Pedregon, driver of the Q Racing Nitro
Funny Car, lost in the first round of eliminations during todayıs Pontiac
Performance NHRA Nationals at National Trail Raceway.

Pedregon smoked the tires as opponent Gary Scelzi drove to a 4.827-second
elapsed time at 320.05 mph. The California native talked about his first
round.

³We were a little too aggressive on that run,² Pedregon said. ³Weıll look to
see what we need, so weıll regroup and go after it in Topeka (Kan.). We
think we learned a few things this weekend and I know this is good race
car.²
