HAMILTON, ONTARIO Barrie youngster Kyle Marcelli has been given the
opportunity of a life time, when he signed up to compete for the potent
Cameron Motorsports team.
"This is a very good opportunity for me," says the young talented racer who
just turned 15. "It is clear that this is a top team, and I am happy to
have a spot on Cameron Motorsports National team."
Marcelli proved his worth in the opener of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting
Championship, where he qualified fourth in the headline Junior class,
Formula Junior. "The CRG is amazing, and getting to work with my father
Tony, tuners like Trevor Wickens and the mechanics here is a big help. We
all worked together and were very close to the pole the first time out."
In his first race for Cameron Motorsports elite team, he was on the podium
behind teammate Maxime Pelletier. "I was happy with the podium, and even
happier when I saw the effort the team gives all the team drivers,"
Marcelli said.
"I know that this class is ultra-competitive, and this team has drivers
capable of winning every race we enter."
Marcelli is clearly focused on getting the most out of his new CRG chassis,
and working hard with the team to move up a few steps on the podium.
"We have everything we need here, and with the Barrie Grand Prix just
around the corner, this will be a good year for us."
The Cameron Motorsports 2005 Barrie Grand Prix will be held on June 24-26,
and Marcelli has his eye on the big prize there. "It will be my home race,
and to win there would be great for the Cameron Motorsports Team and myself."
