Mercedes-Benz Can Supply Used Diesel Cars Particulate Filter

Stuttgart, May 19, 2005 Mercedes-Benz is witnessing a rising demand for models equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in the used car market as well as in its new car business. Mercedes-Benz sales and service outlets and authorised dealerships in Germany currently have around 10,000 used passenger cars with a DPF listed for sale.

In October 2003, Mercedes-Benz became the world's first car manufacturer to offer a combination of an EU 4-compliant engine and a particulate filter for diesel passenger cars. Today around 80 percent of all newly registered Mercedes diesel models in Germany are specified with a DPF.

Now German Mercedes-Benz sales and service outlets and authorised dealerships are also seeing a rising demand for this technology in the used car market. Thanks to an initiative launched in October 2003, Mercedes-Benz is also a leader in this market and currently has around 10,000 used C-Class and E-Class models equipped with a DPF on its forecourts in Germany. Around 3,100 of these vehicles are practically new, pre-owned cars.

Anyone interested in purchasing a used Mercedes can view the range of models on offer by visiting any Mercedes-Benz sales and service outlet or authorised dealership or by logging onto http://www.mercedes-benz.de.

The DPF developed by Mercedes-Benz is maintenance-free, regenerates itself without the use of additives and remains effective over a high mileage.
