USAC - WEATHER WINS SPEEDROME THIRD ROUND; NATIONAL MIDGETS, MIDWEST FOCUSES JOIN MAY 26 SHOW

INDIANAPOLIS - The USAC National and Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series
divisions join the Regional and Speedrome Ford Focus and Kenyon Midget Car
Series divisions as part of “Thursday Night Thunder” May 26 at the Blossom
Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome.

The “Thursday Night Thunder” series, which was rained out Thursday, May 19,
will afford points to its three divisions as well as the National Midget Car
Series and Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series.

The National/Regional event, deemed as the “Vogler Classic” to honor former
USAC drivers Rich and Don Vogler, will be extended to 100 laps from the
regular weekly distance of 50, while the Ford Focus and Kenyon features will
remain at 50 laps.

Brad Kuhn of Avon, Ind. – a regular on the National Midget Series circuit –
owns the current Regional Midget Car Series points standings lead by six
ahead of Travis Young of Franklin, Ind., the Regional series’ season opener
winner. Kuhn will try to hold off defending National series champion Bobby
East – who won the May 12 Regional feature – as well as 2005 National series
point leader Jay Drake, second-place runner Josh Wise, and Speedrome
veterans Billy Wease, Ron Gregory and Teddy and Todd Beach.

Jamie Williams of Columbus, Ind. leads the Speedrome Ford Focus division
after a season-opening victory and third-place run during the second week.
Josh Clemons of Greenfield, Ind. will try to win his second straight event,
as he and fellow Midwest competitors make their way to the track. The
Midwest series opens its season Friday at Lima, Ohio. Tate Martz of
Rushville, Ind. is the defending series champion.

Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. owns the Kenyon Midget Car Series point
lead after first- and second-place finishes to start the season. Jonathan
Hendrick of Fortville, Ind. won the 50-lapper during the second week of
competition and sits second in the series points standings.
