Diamond Powersports Signs Licensing Agreement with Kawasaki
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 18, 2005 -- Diamond Powersports, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: DPWS) is pleased to announce that the company has just signed a licensing agreement with Kawasaki Motor Corporation of America, the fourth leading manufacturer of sportbikes in America. This agreement gives Diamond Powersports the right to engrave the Kawasaki trademarks, emblems and sportbike model names on its parts. Currently, aftermarket parts manufactured with Kawasaki logos represents about 15% of Diamond Powersports' annual revenues. Leading the sportbike industry in innovation of aftermarket accessories for many years, Diamond Powersports is proud that it is currently the only aftermarket manufacturer to have been approved for this distinctive honor.
By leading the way in both quality and design, the Diamond Powersports products have found themselves to be one of the most "copied" of the sportbike accessories on the market. "This agreement," says Pierre Elliott, President and CEO of Diamond Powersports, "should have a limiting effect on our competition's ability to copy our part designs in the future, thus enabling us to gain even more market share this coming year." Diamond Powersports is currently also negotiating for similar agreements with the top three sportbike manufacturers in America -- American Suzuki Motor Corporation, Yamaha Motor Corporation and American Honda Motor Company, Inc.
