Lear Corporation Names Douglas DelGrosso President and Chief Operating Officer

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 18, 2005 -- Lear Corporation today named Douglas DelGrosso president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. He will report to Lear Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Bob Rossiter.

DelGrosso began his career with Lear in 1984 as a design engineer and has progressively advanced to positions of increasing responsibility. In 1991, he was promoted to director of Product Engineering and in 1995, he assumed operating responsibility for the company's GM Division. He also served as president of Lear's DaimlerChrysler Division as well as its Interior Systems and Electronics divisions. In 2001, DelGrosso was named executive vice president - International Operations. One year later, his duties were expanded to president and chief operating officer for all of Lear's operations in Europe, Asia and Africa. Last year, he was named president and chief operating officer - The Americas.

"Doug is an outstanding leader with strong technical knowledge and global operating experience. He is the perfect person to serve as the company's president and chief operating officer," said Rossiter. "Doug has the full confidence of the Board of Directors and support of the entire Lear team."

DelGrosso holds a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University, and a master's degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University.
