USAC - PENNSYLVANIAN SMITH DRIVES TO NORTHEAST FOCUS VICTORY

Ryan Smith of Kunkletown, Pa. drove to victory Saturday in the inaugural
race of the USAC Northeast Ford Focus Midget Car Series at the Oswego (N.Y.)
Speedway.

Smith, who has competed on several occasions in the Carolina/Virginia
region, led all 25 laps of the event in the S&S Speedways/Chestnut Hills
Trailers & Motorsports Stealth/Ford Focus. Trailing him were Nick Wean,
Michael Sboro, Stephanie Stevens and Ryan Osborne.

Thirteen cars were on hand at the event, the second largest group of cars
for a new region’s debut in the series’ four-year history.

Smith – who plans to compete in Friday’s Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car
Series race in Lima, Ohio – holds a three-point lead over Wean heading into
the second scheduled event of the year – a 25-lapper June 11 at Adirondack
International Speedway in Lowville, N.Y.
