Edmunds.com Delivers Critical Information to Automotive Manufacturers with Oracle(R)

Leading Automotive Information Supplier Uses Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Applications as Backbone for Automotive Data Model

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., May 16 -- Oracle today announced that Edmunds.com, the premier online resource for automotive information, has selected Oracle(R) Application Server 10g and Oracle BPEL Process Manager -- components of Oracle Fusion Middleware -- and applications from the Oracle E-Business Suite as the foundation for its new business-to- business (B2B) offering, extending the company's ability to serve dealerships and manufacturers with decision support applications based on Web services and portal standards.

Supplying more than 340,000 pages of vehicle data, reviews, articles and videos to nearly six million automotive consumers a month, Edmunds.com wanted to build a complementary service for the automotive manufacturing community. To achieve this goal, the company will use Oracle technology to build its Automotive Data Model, the under-pinning for its new enterprise-wide infrastructure for delivering content and services to automotive manufacturers. Oracle Application Server 10g is the only comprehensive middleware solution that provides the necessary capabilities ranging from development to integration to deployment, needed for this initiative.
