Connected Vehicle Trade Association Press Release
The CVTA is seeking to establish a collaborative environment that is
representative of the views and interests of a wide spectrum of players –
automotive manufacturers, government agencies, wireless technology companies
(i.e. satellite, cellular, DSRC, WiFi), electronics suppliers,
communications companies, software developers, and others. We believe that
this type of forum is critical to producing industry solutions that are well
thought out and comprehensive.
The CVTA is in the process of crafting Shared Vision MOUs with the VII
(short for Vehicle Infrastructure Integration) Consortium, standards and
specification organizations, and other automotive, telecommunication and
related industry consortia. These organizations are playing an integral
role in the deployment of future concepts for vehicle-to-vehicle and
vehicle-to-roadside communications.
A wealth of information on the organization is also available at HYPERLINK

The CVTA will be formally introduced at the Telematics Update Conference in
Livonia, Michigan, next week. The Board of Directors is presently in
formation, and will include one company from each of the business sectors
identified in the attached overview.
The CVTA was recently asked to host the first technical review of the VII
Working Group's VII Architecture, and will be holding additional reviews
with automakers and state and federal agencies for specific elements of the
planned architecture.
In addition, the CVTA will be conducting Industry Awareness Briefings to
allow Members to familiarize and credentialize their companies with the
appropriate state and federal agencies.
