Yazaki North America Honored by General Motors as 2005 Corporation of the Year

CANTON, Mich., May 13, 2005 -- Yazaki North America, Inc. (Yazaki), a leading supplier of vehicle power and data solutions to the automotive industry, was named General Motors Corporation of the Year for its capabilities as a global supplier, exceptional performance on new GM vehicles, and meeting or exceeding all performance metrics. The award was given during ceremonies in Detroit on Saturday, April 23.

In addition to being recognized by GM as its exclusive Corporation of the Year, Yazaki was also one of 78 companies to receive GM's Supplier of the Year Award. Yazaki has earned Supplier of the Year recognition from GM in the Electrical/Electronics category for four consecutive years.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price.
