Cummins Names Robert Hutchinson Jr. Vice President - PowerCare

COLUMBUS, Ind.--May 1, 20053, 2005--Cummins Inc. announced today that Robert W. Hutchinson Jr. has been named Vice President - PowerCare effective immediately. Hutchinson had been General Manager - PowerCare Manufacturing since 2000 and last year took on additional responsibility as General Manager - Fuel Systems.

Cummins PowerCare handles a number of aftermarket sales and service functions including the worldwide sale and distribution of new and remanufactured parts, Cummins remanufacturing operations, customer support and warranty claims administration.

Hutchinson joined Cummins in 1988 after nearly a decade at General Motors. During his career at Cummins, Hutchinson also has worked as a Product Manager - High Horsepower (1990-1992); Manager - Parts and Service Information (1992-1994); Director - Aftermarket Support (1994-1997) and Plant Manager - Juarez/El Paso Fuel Systems (1997-2000).

Hutchinson, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, who grew up in Detroit, earned his bachelor's degree from the General Motors Institute in 1984 and his MBA from the University of Michigan in 1988. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Columbus with their seven children, where Hutchinson serves as a Board member and Treasurer of the ARC of Bartholomew County.
