Haynes MINI Cooper Competition Winner to Feature in 'Italian Job' Stunt Display

YEOVIL, England, May 12, 2005 -- With entries pouring in and the closing date of 30 June 2005 fast approaching, Haynes has confirmed an even more spectacular top prize for its current competition. As well as collecting a brand new MINI Cooper worth in excess of GBP14k, the prize winner can take part in a thrilling 'Italian Job' stunt display by the legendary Russ Swift - famous for spinning cars into 'impossible' parking spaces, as seen on television shows You Bet, Top Gear, Driven and Fifth Gear.

If you have been to any major motorsport event, the chances are that you will have seen various vehicles driven round at amazing speeds - but using only two wheels - by Russ, one-time British Autotest Champion and current Guinness Book of Records holder.

The lucky winner will get the chance to sit alongside Russ during a 25 minute thrilling high-speed, tyre-smoking live stunt show, as he performs his famous 'Italian Job' display of reverse spinning, two wheeling, handbrake parking and car 'dance' routines. If like me you struggle to park a Vectra in a Tesco car park, let alone drive a car on two wheels (well not intentionally), then this nail-biting experience will be an opportunity of a lifetime - what a truly memorable day to complement taking ownership of Haynes' Project MINI Cooper.

Haynes, well known worldwide for its authoritative automotive DIY manuals, is, for the first time, offering one of its stripped and rebuilt cars as a competition prize. A brand new MINI Cooper is being used in the preparation of the new MINI Service and Repair manual due for publication in August. And one lucky person will win it - complete with a unique signed copy of the manual and the Russ Swift stunt experience.

Project MINI Cooper is currently being dismantled and rebuilt in Haynes Project Workshops, with every stage meticulously photographed and documented for inclusion in the new manual. Haynes have thrown open their workshop doors, so that you can view the progress on their website www.haynes.co.uk - from the moment the car arrived, to the finished manuals appearing on retailers' shelves.
