Reynolds and Reynolds Announces Availability of Vinstickers.com

With the application, dealers can quickly and cost-effectively process and market used car inventory

DAYTON, Ohio, May 9 -- The Reynolds and Reynolds Company , the leading provider of software and services to the automotive retailing industry, today announced the availability of Vinstickers.com, an application designed for processing and marketing used car inventory.

Vinstickers.com accesses data for passenger cars and light trucks dating back to 1996 and generates window stickers, federally-mandated buyer's guides, as well as brochures for used vehicle inventory. The application also distributes the same information, plus photos to selected Web sites for posting. Vinstickers.com was developed by ESP Data Solutions, an automotive intelligence software products company.

"Vinstickers.com saves us time and is very easy to use. No more walking back and forth collecting information. It takes just three simple steps -- take the picture, verify the data, print a window sticker -- and I'm done," said Undra Matthews, Internet manager at Gary Crossley Ford in Liberty, Missouri.

Currently, many dealerships use multiple programs to create the used car documents or hire a service bureau to visit their lot weekly to prepare the vehicles for sale. The bureaus charge per vehicle to create a buyer's guide, which details warranty information; and a window sticker, a document that lists standard equipment and features of the vehicle. Using service bureaus can be expensive and time consuming since the average new car franchise dealer adds approximately 60 used cars to its inventory every month.

Now, with the Vinstickers.com application, dealers can process inventory daily and post it to multiple Web sites, saving time and money.

"With Vinstickers.com, dealers have more control and choices in the processing and marketing of their used car inventory," said Scott Hudson, solutions executive for Reynolds Document Solutions. "It's innovative, yet easy-to-use and affordable to implement by new car franchises and independent used car dealers. Plus, there are no contracts to sign; it's a pay as you go type of service."

System integration

Vinstickers.com integrates with Reynolds ERA(R) dealer management system and other major systems to pull up recently acquired inventory for processing. By decoding the 17 digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), the application populates all the standard and optional equipment information for vehicles and light trucks dating back to 1996. With the information, a dealer can quickly print detailed window stickers, buyer's guides and vehicle brochures.

Web site distribution

According to the latest J.D. Power and Associates Used Autoshopper.com study, more than half of late-model used-vehicle buyers use the Internet during their shopping process. With the optional VinBuddy Pocket PC (PDA) tool, dealers can leverage the power of the Web. The tool enables them to easily take photos of their inventory and then upload them to Vinstickers.com. The application distributes the photos and pre-populated vehicle information to the dealership's web site or third-party sites such as Cars.com and AutoTrader.com for posting.

Any dealerships interested in Vinstickers.com, should contact their Reynolds document consultant for more information, or call toll-free 1-800-344-0996 or visit: http://www.vinstickers.com/ .
