Atwater Take Two: The Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo National Series

On Tap This Weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. (May 6, 2005) - Just a few days removed from a wildly
competitive The Tire Rack(r) SCCA Solo National Tour weekend, Castle
Airport in Atwater, Calif., is ready to ramp it up again, this time for
the third round of The Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo National Series.

Super Stock will have no problem living up to its name as any one of the
class' 10 entrants could leave with a class crown. Leading the SS
charge will be Solo giants like Erik Strelnieks, of Austin, Texas, in
his Jungle Cat Racing/www.lonestarcraft.com/SoulSpeed 2004 Chevrolet
Z06, and Gary Thomason, of Oceanside, Calif., in his Pro Parts 2003
Porsche GT3, battling it out for class supremacy against others such as
Tom Kotzian, of Gladstone, Ore., in his Trackside/Coachman Auto Body
2004 Corvette, and Steve Telehowski, of Auburn Hills, Mich., who will
co-drive the Scott Troyer-owned Restoration Rods/Randy's Alignments 2001
Corvette Z06.

For those who love rematches, A Stock is a dream matchup where
first-round class winner Scott McHugh, of Santa Clarita, Calif., is set
to run in his Kumho 1989 Corvette. Jason Uyeda, of West Hills, Calif.,
was the runner-up behind McHugh at the Fontana event and is looking for
some revenge. He is entered in his Neversoft Entertainment 2003 Porsche
Boxter S, while Joe Goeke, of Kirkland, Wash., earned a third-place
podium finish in round one and wants another shot at both McHugh and
Uyeda in his Team Butt Heat! 2000 Honda.

No one is hotter than Kevin Youngers, of Greeley, Colo., who has begun
the 2005 ProSolo season with back-to-back class victories in D Stock.
If he wants complete the early trifecta, he'll have to be at the top of
his game in his Bimmerhaus/Cr Racing/Youngers Insights 2002 BMW 330Ci as
Glen Hernandez, of Marysville, Wash., is looking to build off of his D
Stock win in last weekend's Solo National Tour event.

Alan Dahl, of Federal Way, Wash., skipped second round ProSolo action in
Atlanta after winning the Hawk Performance Super Challenge in Fontana.
But he is ready to take on a solid H Stock field in his 1995 Audi 90
Quattro, going up against perennial favorites Mark Chiles, of Rocky
Mount, N.C., and Jeff Jacobs, of Philadelphia, Pa., who will share
Chiles Mini of Charleston/Miniusa.com/Sirius Satellite Radio 2003 Mini
Cooper S.

While Atlanta Ladies Challenge winner Kyung Wootton, of Austin, Texas,
continues to make a habit of successfully taking on the guys (going at
it again this weekend in C Stock), Patty Tunnell, of Superior, Colo.,
who won the Fontana Ladies Challenge, has thrown her name and her
Bimmerhaus/Hoosier/H&R Springs 2002 BMW 330Ci into the Ladies 2 mix,
where upstart Christine Berry, of Alta Loma, Calif. (who won her first
non-junior class title at Fontana), and 2004 B Street Prepared Ladies
National Champion Angela Moffet, of Puyallup, Wash., will be waiting.

The third round of The Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo National Series begins
Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Sunday's action starts at 8 a.m., followed
by the elimination Hawk Performance Super Challenge at 1 p.m.
