Twin Disc, Inc., Awarded Army Contract

RACINE, Wis.--May 3, 2005--Twin Disc, Inc. , today announced the Company has been awarded a $2.9 million order to supply transmissions for the U.S. Army's M88A1 medium recovery vehicle. The M88A1 is a full tracked armored vehicle used to perform battlefield rescue and recovery of heavy tanks and other combat vehicles.

The initial order of 24 units is part of a larger 450 unit, $56.1 million firm-fixed contract for the Company's XT1410 transmissions and was awarded by the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command in Warren, Michigan. Work will be performed at the Company's Racine, Wisconsin facilities and the total contract volume is expected to be completed by April 30, 2010.

Commenting on the order, Michael E. Batten, Twin Disc's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are proud to be a supplier of rugged heavy-duty transmissions for the U.S. Army.
