Dealerships in Northern and Southern California Receive Outstanding Customer Service and Volume Sales Awards

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 3, 2005 -- The California Motor Car Dealers Association (CMCDA) announces that several board directors for the Association earned national automotive industry awards for outstanding performance results in both volume sales and customer satisfaction.

Sacramento's Ray Enos of Downtown Ford Sales, Henry Hansel of Hansel Auto Group in Petaluma and Bert Boeckmann of Galpin Ford in North Hills recently received the President's Award, Ford Motor Company's highest honor. Each year Ford Motor Company honors a select group of Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers demonstrating exceptional achievement in sales and customer satisfaction.

Cliff Cummings of Toyota of San Bernardino earned the 2004 President's Cabinet. This award is Toyota's most elite honor and is given annually to only 12 dealers or less than one percent of all Toyota franchises in the United States.

Harold Meek of Three-Way Chevrolet in Bakersfield has been selected as a General Motors Dealer of the Year for 2004 in recognition of his dealership's outstanding performance. Meek is one of only 109 dealers nationwide to receive the honor.

"Consumers are generally happy with the car buying experience. The vast majority of car dealers are honest, hard-working business people who serve their customers and communities well," said Peter Welch, CMCDA's president. "The dealers that received awards realize how the business and customers are changing, and are determined to remain front-runners in the field. Most importantly, they know that their hard work and dedication has earned them the respect and admiration of their customers and peers."

The board directors will be recognized for their awards at the upcoming Board of Directors meeting in Sacramento.
