Shane Hmiel about Talladega Superspeedway:
“You never know what to expect at Talladega because the
unexpected always happens. I’ve run well at Talladega in the past, and I even finished
3rd there in 2003. We’re taking the same car that we ran at Daytona earlier
this year. The car qualifies decent, but it drafts really well and that’s what
matters. We were running in the top-five at Daytona, up until we knocked a hole
in the radiator and it overheated, but hopefully we will have better luck at
Talladega. I hope to have a solid starting position to work my way to the
front, lead some laps, and be there to fight for the win at the finish.??

Hmiel about running the Talladega Busch race, then flying to St. Louis for
the NCTS race:
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of running the Busch race
at Talladega and then getting on the plane and heading to St. Louis for the
Craftsman Truck race at Gateway that night. Hopefully we will have a good run in
the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet, and then I can get on the plane and rest as much
as possible on the way up to St. Louis. Regan Smith is going to practice the
truck and qualify it for me, while I am running the Busch race and traveling. It
will definitely be challenging to run 312 miles at in the draft at Talladega,
and then to start from the back and run 200 miles at Gateway in the #15 Billy
Ballew Motorsports Truck. I am lucky to have a wonderful owner Todd Braun and
sponsor WINFUEL that allow me to challenge myself and continue to compete in
the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.??
