MOPAR'S JOHNSON LOOKING FOR A VICTORIOUS HOMECOMING

Center Line, Mich. - As the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Series heads to Bristol 
Dragway this weekend for the Fifth Annual O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley 
Nationals, Allen Johnson only has one thing on his mind. He's looking to win in front 
of his hometown crowd. 

"Winning in front of the hometown crowd would be what I call the ultimate 
win," Johnson said. "You're always looking for a victory, but to get a win in 
your backyard, nothing can top that. We're definitely going to give it a 110 
percent effort in Bristol this weekend."

Earning a victory in front of the Thunder Valley crowd wouldn't be a far 
stretch for the veteran driver, as he has already earned one series win at 
Phoenix, Ariz., earlier this season. Johnson has also sat atop the NHRA POWERade Pro 
Stock Series points, and his eighth-place J&J Racing team remains the highest 
ranking Dodge team in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Series points chase.

"I feel pretty lucky to be the top Dodge team in the Pro Stock series right 
now," Johnson said. "That's really the only way to describe it. If we'd just 
kept our foot out of our mouth, so to speak, in Las Vegas, we'd still be fourth 
in the points. But we learned from that event, and we're working hard to make 
sure that we have a great race this weekend in Bristol."

Qualifying for the Fifth Annual O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals begins 
Friday and Saturday, with final eliminations scheduled for Sunday. 

ESPN2 will broadcast qualifying highlights on Saturday, April 30, at 7 p.m. 
EST, and NHRA2Day will air on Sunday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m. EST. ESPN2 will also 
broadcast elimination highlights on Sunday at 7 p.m. EST.
