Continental Supports Chrysler Group Dealer Training and Consumer Marketing Programs
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 26 -- The Chrysler Group recently kicked off this year's dealer training program -- and for the second year in a row, Continental Automotive Systems was there providing support to the first of four programs the company will participate in throughout the year. In addition to the dealer training program, Continental will provide support for the Inspired Drives, Camp Jeep(R), and Camp Jeep(R): On the Road consumer programs.
Sunny Irvine, Calif., was the first stop of the dealer training program's multi-city tour that will run through spring 2005. Continental provides state-of-the-art, hands-on safety demonstrations; as well as company spokesmen and women to answer safety-related questions about the Continental-supplied safety systems available on Chrysler Group vehicles.
Chrysler Group dealership employees will be introduced to new vehicles including the 2005 Jeep(R) Grand Cherokee and the 2006 Dodge Charger, as well as the various safety systems available on both new vehicles. Continental's electronic stability control (ESC), is featured on the Jeep Grand Cherokee and known as Electronic Stability Program (ESP) at the Chrysler Group. Additionally, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is equipped with Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) from Continental. The Dodge Charger is equipped with ESP and ContiTouringContact(TM) CH95 tires with ContiSeal(TM) technology from Continental as well.
"Continental's life-saving technologies available on these exciting new vehicles can help reduce crashes and mitigate fatalities and injuries," said Bill Kozyra, president and CEO of Continental Automotive Systems, N.A. "With vehicle safety one of today's most important selling points, we are delighted to have the opportunity to assist Chrysler Group's effort to educate dealership staff to make them knowledgeable of the features and benefits of these systems, well versed in this safety technology and capable of answering consumer questions."
Continental's "Safely There" mobile exhibit will be present at a number of training sessions to further demonstrate the operation and benefits of vehicle safety systems that include: anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control systems (TCS), ESP and rollover mitigation. This award-winning exhibit provides hands-on education using interactive driving simulators and a 3-D movie to demonstrate the effects of ESC, as well as video testimonials from highway safety leaders. The exhibit is part of Continental's ongoing national consumer awareness campaign.
Over the past several years Continental has invested several million dollars to educate drivers on the benefits of active vehicle safety equipment.
