Johnson Controls Named General Motors Supplier of the Year for Its Outstanding Performance During 2004
Elite Award Given to Global Manufacturer of Innovative Seating Products and Batteries
PLYMOUTH, Mich., April 25 -- Johnson Controls, Inc. , a leading global supplier of automotive interior components and batteries, was named as a General Motors 2004 Supplier of the Year for its overall business performance in providing the automaker with world-class parts and services during the past year. The award was presented to Johnson Controls executives during ceremonies held on Saturday, April 23 at the General Motors Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan.

Johnson Controls has gained GM Supplier of the Year award recognition nine times during the past 10 years. The company has been named among GM's top suppliers 10 times overall.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 78 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2004.
