Amicus on Training for MG Rover Workers

LONDON, April 25 -- Amicus have supported the Work Foundation's calls for work place training for MG Rover workers.

Tony Murphy, Amicus' National Officer for the automotive industry, said: "The money needs to prioritise workplace training opportunities so that people are employed and learning new skills at the same time. The focus needs to change to enable training to be accessed on a job so that people can be earning a wage. Unless this happens I am concerned that people won't be able to afford to take advantage of training opportunities and those that do will be the ones not able to find another job."
