Is Your Wife or Mother a Car Slob?
Skip the Beauty Spa Gift Certificate for Mother's Day and Enter Mom to Win a Complete Car Makeover
CHICAGO, April 22 -- Beauty makeovers might be the latest rage, but this Mother's Day skip the spa gift certificate and head for the garage. You can nominate your mom or wife to win the International Carwash Association's Mother's Day Car Slob Makeover Contest.
It's time to enter the car makeover contest if: -- Your mom's or wife's car looks like a dumpster on wheels, -- You look for your clothes in the back seat instead of the closet, -- You can open up a Swiss bank account with the change on the floor, -- Your thighs stick to the upholstery.... and you are wearing pants - not shorts, -- Or, the local mini-mart directs customers to her dashboard for napkins and straws.
Ten lucky moms will receive a complete bumper-to-bumper car makeover from the International Carwash Association that includes a complete interior and exterior cleaning and roses on the front seat.
"It may not bring a tear to her eye, but a professional car detail is one Mother's Day Gift that won't be returned," said Mark Thorsby, executive director of the International Carwash Association. "Everyone loves a clean car!"
"In addition, a professional car detail protects the investment made in a car," said Thorsby. According to auto trade-in experts such as Kelley Blue Book, cars in excellent mechanical condition and appearance can be valued at $1,500 higher than those in good or fair condition.
