SRS Labs' Circle Surround Automotive Technology Wins Prestigious 2005 AeA High-Tech Award

SRS Circle Surround Automotive(TM) Technology Receives Top Nod in 'Consumer' Technology Category for the Orange County Council of the American Electronics Association

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 22 -- SRS Labs, Inc. , one of the world's leading providers of audio, voice and surround sound technologies, today proudly announced that it has been honored with the 2005 Best in Consumer Product/Technology Award from the Orange County Chapter of the American Electronics Association ("AeA"), the nation's largest high-tech trade association. Presented at the Twelfth Annual High-Tech awards this past Wednesday, SRS Labs' engineering team and their invention of the SRS Circle Surround Automotive (TM) ("CS Automotive") technology were named for outstanding contribution to the local high-technology community. CS Automotive technology, which creates a thrilling in-vehicle surround sound experience from any audio material, including standard compact discs or AM/FM radio, over any four or more speaker system, is already featured in products from major automotive manufacturers such as Honda and Toyota, and by a variety of after-market manufacturers such as Panasonic, Eclipse and others.

"We are very proud to receive this powerful endorsement of our CS Automotive technology," said Thomas C. K. Yuen, chairman and CEO of SRS Labs. "Our dedicated R&D team, including Alan Kraemer, CTO; Sarah Yang, Sr. Director, Software Engineering; Hank Kato, Regional Manager, Japan; and Rick Oliver, Staff Engineer, worked diligently to develop a technology specifically designed to create a home theater listening experience in any automobile from any type of audio material. I am very pleased that their efforts are being recognized. We will continue to invent new technology that improves the entertainment experience of consumers around the world."

CS Automotive creates thrilling surround sound in any automobile from any audio source, including mono or stereo traditional radio broadcasts, satellite radio, digital broadcasts from HD Radio(TM), standard CD and compressed music from a portable media player. It is the only multi-channel decoding solution complete with enhancement techniques that can be customized to solve the unique audio challenges of the automotive environment, even creating the perception of a center speaker if one is not installed. It doesn't just bring surround sound to a vehicle -- it also improves the quality of the audio experience.

Winners of the AeA High-Tech Awards 2005 were announced Wednesday evening at an awards ceremony held at the Jewish Community Center of Orange County on the Samueli Jewish Campus in Irvine.
