Volkswagen AG: Dr. Bernhard to Assume Chair of Volkswagen Brand Group May 1st

WOLFSBURG, Germany--April 20, 2005--Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard (44) will assume the chairmanship of the Volkswagen brand group starting on May 1, 2005. The Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group took note of this appointment at its meeting on Wednesday. Prof. Dr. Folker Weissgerber has reached the age of 65 and will retire as scheduled on June 30, 2005.
