New AS2 Testing Components Address Digital Certificate & Multiple Attachment Exchanges in Software Applications

eBusinessReady(R), an industry-neutral software testing program under joint partnership of the Uniform Code Council, Inc.(R) (UCC) and Drummond Group Inc. (DGI), today announced that two new optional testing components have been incorporated into interoperability testing for AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) specifications. The optional tests provide AS2 end users (manufacturers, retailers and suppliers) with additional tools for exchanging digital certificates between trading partners and creating transactions with multiple documents.
In the AS2 first quarter 2005 (1Q05) test round, 30 software products from 24 U.S. and internationally-based companies successfully passed interoperability testing for AS2 specifications. Leading companies from the United States, as well as France, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom whose products passed include: Boomi, Inc., Bridgeware, Center for E-Commerce Infrastructure Development (CECID), Classified Information, Inc., Cleo Communications, Click Commerce, Inc., Covast, Cyclone Commerce, EDICOM, Electronic Data Systems, EXTOL International, Global eXchange Services, Inc., ILLICOM, Inovis, InterCommIT, iSoft Corporation, iWay Software, /n software inc., LLC, nuBridges, Oracle Corporation, SAA Consultants Ltd., Sterling Commerce, TIBCO Software Inc., and Transentric.
AS2 is a specification standard that enables users to connect, deliver, and reply to data securely and reliably over the Internet. The first new optional test added to the AS2 1Q05 test round was Certificate Exchange Messaging (CEM), which is based on a new open standard that enables the exchange of digital certificates among active trading partners - without interruption to current trading relationships. As certificates near expiration, new certificates must be introduced to the trading partner relationship without interrupting ongoing transactions. Cleo, EDS, Inovis, and /n software successfully completed CEM testing. The second new optional component involves multiple attachment testing (two or more payload documents), which provides the same security features that are used in single payload AS2 transmissions. Cleo, EDS, Global eXchange Services, Inovis, and /n software successfully completed multiple attachment testing.
