(April 17, 2005) Tony Pedregon, driver of the ŒQ¹ Racing Monte Carlo Nitro Funny Car, fell in the first round of eliminations to Whit Bazemore during today¹s NHRA Summitracing.com Nationals at The Strip At Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Pedregon, winner of both 2003 Las Vegas¹ races, ran a 6.018-second elapsed time at 172.14 mph, falling short to Bazemore¹s elapsed time of 4.951 seconds at 320.36 mph. Pedregon smoked the tires in the hot pavement and lost traction early in the pass. ³We¹re working on getting some consistency,² Pedregon said. ³We got back on track during qualifiyng and I¹m looking forward to Bristol (Tenn.) It should be a good weekend for the ŒQ¹ Racing team.² Pedregon and his ŒQ¹ Racing team will start in Bristol, Tenn. in 12th position of the 2005 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The O¹Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals will be held at Bristol Dragway on April 29-May 1.
