(April 15, 2005) Tony Pedregon was satisfied after piloting his Q Racing Monte Carlo Nitro Funny Car to two strong qualifying passes for the NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip At Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The 2003 NHRA Funny Car champion used the nightıs cooler conditions to his advantage. During his second qualifying pass, Pedregon posted a 4.813-second elapsed time at 318.92 mph that put him firmly in the top half of the field, in the No. 4 position. ³We could have run even better, but the car shot a spark plug out and weıre trying to find the reason,² said Pedregon. ³But Iım very please because we are back in the shape we were a few races ago. We qualified in the top half of the field and we plan on taking advantage of those conditions. ³Tomorrow, weıre expecting warmer temperatures,² explained Pedregon. ³At this point, we just need to focus on running the car in the heat.
