Nissan starts vehicle production, sales in Egypt

TOKYO April 15, 2005; Japan Today reported that Nissan Motor Co said Thursday it has begun producing and selling its Pickup commercial vehicle in Egypt, where Nissan plans to establish an automotive industry base for the Middle East and North Africa.

The Pickup commercial vehicle, the first model produced and sold under direct Nissan management in Egypt, is being built at a refurbished factory in 6th October Industrial City, 40 kilometers west of Cairo, and sales began earlier this month. (Kyodo News)
