Yamoto by Patriot Scores Big Win at Long Beach Grand Prix
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.--April 14, 2005--Patriot Motorcycles Corporation (Pink Sheets: PMCY) today announced a record-breaking performance at last weekend's 31st Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Both the company and its flagship line of Yamoto by Patriot dirt bikes and ATVs were a major presence in every aspect of the race weekend spectacular, which played to an estimated 175,000 motorsport fans. The season opener of the 2005 Champ Car World Series in Long Beach was also the official kick-off for the 70-city Boost Mobile Freestyle MX tour presented by Yamoto by Patriot.Highlights of the event included Yamoto by Patriot's first participation as co-sponsor of the HVM Racing Team (formerly Herdez Racing) with two Indy-type Champ cars entered in the competition.
Spectators in the garage and pit areas also viewed Patriot's line of ATVs used by various drivers in the pit and paddock. One of the co-founders of Champ Car World Series, Kevin Kalkhoven, uses a Yamoto by Patriot ATV as personal transportation during the running of all Champ Car events.
Fans 10 Rows Deep Clamor for Another Yamoto by Patriot "First"
Yamoto by Patriot's big win at the Long Beach Grand Prix didn't come from two Champ cars roaring around the 1.97-mile track. Rather, it came from a tiny 4 5/8" shiny silver disk that turned in a record-shattering performance. The unveiling of Patriot's highly anticipated interactive CD brochure developed by iMedia International (OTCBB:IMNL) of Santa Monica, CA also proved popular with Long Beach fans. The CD uses state-of-the-art proprietary technology that integrates filmed productions and other dynamic content to link fan follow-up with pinpoint statistical data.
While iMedia interactive CDs are used to promote everything from superstars (like Britney Spears) to huge entertainment spectaculars and major motion pictures (like "Shrek"), movie studios (such as Paramount and DreamWorks), new NBC-TV prime-time shows (like "Medium") and even the city of Las Vegas itself, there was overwhelming response to the Patriot interactive CD. At Long Beach, a total of 1,200 Yamoto by Patriot "Ride to Freedom" CDs were given to fans of all ages, and after each performance superstar MX freestyle riders (such as Jim McNeil and Jeremy Lusk) lined-up to personally greet fans and autograph their copies.
In the hours immediately following the race, another "winner" began to emerge, as unprecedented numbers of people were logged on iMedia servers which track how many CDs are activated at specific times and analyze user selections.
According to iMedia President Scott Kapp, "When fans returned home, the hours between 4 and 9 p.m. normally would have been spent relaxing, eating or watching race news on TV. Instead, they were spent inserting Yamoto by Patriot CDs into computers in record numbers." Kapp noted that nearly one out of every four CDs that was played in the first few hours after the Long Beach event was a Patriot CD brochure. Over the next 48 hours, numbers continued to soar, soon reaching (and then exceeding) 100 percent usage.
The most recent iMedia count indicated 4.5 uses per CD, representing both repeat usage and pass-along viewing - with the Yamoto by Patriot vehicle product line being the most frequently viewed item.
The most frequently visited products were the two Yamoto by Patriot dirt bikes used by riders McNeil and Lusk for Freestyle MX show warm-ups. "Never in the history of our company," states iMedia's Kapp, "have we seen such immediate and complete response to a CD distribution."
President of Sales and Marketing for Patriot Motorcycles, Mark Green, noted, "Sponsorship of the 2005 Boost Mobile Freestyle MX tour and the new interactive CD represent our major branding efforts. We are truly humbled and grateful to see our marketing strategies come together with such impact at a prestigious motorsport event such as this."
Patriot Motorcycles CEO Michel Attias added, "It gives us confidence that our marketing initiatives have consumers making a direct connection between the superstar Freestyle MX riders, our CD brochures and Yamoto by Patriot products."
Long Beach was the first stop on the 70-city 2005 Boost Mobile Freestyle MX Tour presented by Yamoto by Patriot - and the first issue of the "Ride to Freedom" interactive CD brochure. Next Stop is the DUB Magazine Super Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center on April 17, 2005.
