Time Warner Cable Road Runner, U.S. Bank Renew Champ Car Race
Sponsorship
at The Milwaukee Mile
(West Allis, WI) April 13, 2005 - The high-speed world of open wheel
racing meets the leading edge technology of Time Warner Cable and it's
Road Runner High Speed Online service at The Milwaukee Mile on Saturday
June 4, it was announced today.
The world-class drivers competing in the Champ Car World Series make
their return to America's Legendary Oval for the first time in a
Saturday afternoon race, entitled the "Time Warner Cable Road Runner 225
presented by U.S. Bank."
U.S. Bancorp, the 6th largest financial services holding company in the
United States returns in the presenter's role of the traditional Champ
Car World Series auto race, and remains the "Official Bank of The
Milwaukee Mile."
Series driving champions Paul Tracy, Jimmy Vasser, Cristiano da Matta
and 2004 titleholder Sebastien Bourdais will race at speeds approaching
180 miles per hour on the one-mile oval, and lead the field of
contenders determined to unseat last year's race winner Ryan
Hunter-Reay. The 24 year-old Texan captured the checkers in 2004 at the
historic speedway in record fashion, as he became the youngest American
oval race winner in series history when he raced to a flag-to-flag
triumph from the pole position.
"Time Warner Cable's Road Runner High Speed Online is thrilled to once
again partner with The Milwaukee Mile as the title sponsor for the 2005
Champ Car race. Our sponsorship of this major motorsports event is a
perfect tie to the remarkable speeds and unique product offerings of our
Road Runner High Speed Online service," stated David Gray, Vice
President of Sales and Marketing, Southeast Wisconsin Division of Time
Warner Cable. "Champ Car Race Fans can experience the high-speed and
performance of Time Warner Cable Road Runner High Speed Online services,
as well as the Champ Car action on the track."
This announcement is a renewal of the 2004 Champ Car entitlement for
Time Warner Cable and the presenter's role for U.S. Bank.
"U.S. Bank is committed to providing its Five Star Service Guarantee and
financial services in the greater Milwaukee area, and we are thrilled to
continue this strong representation in our community with The Milwaukee
Mile," commented Andrew Randall, U.S. Bank - Wisconsin President. "Auto
racing is the number one spectator sport in the United States, and for
U.S. Bank, it means a great deal to be aligned with The Milwaukee Mile,
one of America's great racing treasures."
Mark Perrone, Vice President / General Manager of The Milwaukee Mile was
equally enthused.
