Autosport Development Team Anxious To Hit The Track

Detroit – April 12, 2005 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Series 
is back in action as part of the Sportsbook.com Grand Prix at Road 
Atlanta, in Braselton, Ga., April 15-17 and the Autosport Development 
crew is anxious to get Stu Hayner’s GMAC Commercial Finance / Trenton 
Forging #5 GTO back on the track.

“We had an early race incident in St. Petersburg,” said crew chief, Rob 
Wanamaker. “It put us back in the pack so we used the opportunity to 
observe the car in race conditions. It paid dividends once back at the 
shop. We’ve made some important suspension adjustments that should make 
the car more stable and give Stu the ability to drive into the corners 
harder and a better feel for the car’s back end as he comes off the 
corners. All-in-all, I think we’ll start the week ahead of the curve.”

The team will participate in the promoter’s test day on Thursday.

“The test session will be an excellent opportunity for us,” continued 
Wanamaker. “Road Atlanta has a good mix of track conditions and room to 
move the car around… allowing Stu more flexibility in trying lines and 
giving us the feedback needed to make the car better.”

The team felt they had a competitive start in St. Petersburg and 
without the early contact could have had a top-10 finish.

“We’re definitely seeing improvements,” Wanamaker added. “Our lap times 
during the race at St. Petersburg were the best we’d seen all weekend. 
I’m confident as we get the car more comfortable to where Stu can be 
more aggressive, we’ll see the car get up among the lead pack. It’s no 
secret that the Vipers are going to be tough, but we think we can run 
with the Cadillacs and Corvettes. This should be a good weekend for 
us.”

The team will also participate in off-track activities with hospitality 
programs for guests from GMAC Commerical Finance in Atlanta and in 
conjunction with Chili Pepper racing will entertain families from the 
Lighthouse Retreat, a seaside family retreat established to serve 
families caring for children with cancer.

The SPEED World Challenge GT race takes the green flag on Sunday, April 
17 at 8:55am and will air on SPEED Channel tape delayed at 1:pm. The 
Touring Car race will air live on Saturday, April 16 at 4pm.

include street races in Denver and St. Petersburg, and make the
