Optimal Scheduler is the core solution architecture underlying three key i2 solutions: i2 Sequencer, i2 Master Scheduler and i2 Configuration Order Promising. This solution suite is designed to help companies to optimize schedules and sequences for automotive vehicle assembly lines and to provide order matching, swapping, substitution and promising directly against the scheduled and sequenced orders. These solutions can enable the creation of a detailed model of the vehicle assembly environment, accept inputs such as production constraints and customer orders and then create schedules and sequences based on optimization techniques while adhering to key business constraints. The i2 Optimal Scheduler solution architecture can also be used to deliver solutions to business challenges such as planning production of tires, scheduling of job shops, and enterprise level project and resource planning.
"This award is the culmination of years of innovation and continuous improvement by our research and development, consulting, and field organizations in working with our OEM clients," said Kelly Thomas, i2 vice president, Strategic Services and Industry Marketing.
