Palace Chrysler Jeep Employees Vote 'No' in Teamsters Election

Dykema Gossett advises local dealership in election run by National Labor Relations Board

LAKE ORION, Mich., April 11 -- Employees at Palace Chrysler Jeep in Lake Orion voted 31-4 not to be represented by the Teamsters in an election run by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on April 1, 2005. The bargaining unit includes service techs, porters, body shop and parts employees. Dykema Gossett attorneys Ron Santo, Claire Harrison, and Brian Young advised Palace Chrysler Jeep in preparation for the election.

The Teamsters were allowed to file objections to the NLRB until Friday, April 8, 2005. No objections were filed before the 5 p.m. Friday deadline.

In a statement, Palace Chrysler Jeep owners Brian and Don Milosch said they were happy with the employees' decision, and "look forward to putting this behind us and continuing to work together to resolve any ongoing issues without outside interference."

The defeat for the Teamsters provided a substantial setback to the union's organizing efforts in the area.
