Mark Carr, President and CEO of CBAC, opened the first Christian Brothers Automotive repair facility in 1982. While he had no prior experience in the automotive service industry, Carr's store flourished because of his excellent customer service, based on the belief that every business should be built on a foundation of honesty and integrity.
"One of the things my customers always appreciated was that I, as the store owner, was always on-site to answer their questions and treated them in a positive manner. Pretty soon, word about the store and our ethical way of treating our customers began to spread and Christian Brothers was and is highly successful," said Carr.
Today, all existing CBAC facilities have owners on site and are operated under the original principle of excellent customer service, honesty and ethical business practices.
All prospective franchisees undergo a comprehensive screening process that involves financial qualifications, the completion of a personality profile, and an interview process. "We typically grant fewer franchises then the number who applied," said Carr. "Selecting the right store owner is just as important as selecting the right location. Our company is founded on the principle of honesty and integrity and we have to be sure that every Christian Brothers owner will treat customers with the utmost respect and honor the beliefs of our business."
In addition to the thorough storeowner selection process, CBAC's store staff is comprised of automotive service excellence (ASE) certified technicians, and CBAC requires that the storeowner be on-site at every location. Each facility is designed and built according to corporate standards. All customer waiting areas are well kept and nicely furnished, and the shop and bays are cleaned on a daily basis.
CBAC also offers a free shuttle service to customers and is willing to be flexible to meet the needs of its customers. "We believe that everyone should love your neighbor as yourself and it is important to care for everyone who does business with us," said Carr.
