CarMax Awarded Best Annual Report for Small- To Mid-Cap Companies by IR Magazine
RICHMOND, Va., April 8 -- CarMax, Inc. , the nation's leading specialty retailer of used cars, received the award for Best Annual Report for small- to mid-cap companies at the IR Magazine U.S. Awards on March 31, 2005. The awards ceremony was held at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York City.
"Developing our annual report is truly a team effort," said Keith Browning, CFO for CarMax. "We knew we had a great annual report, but it's nice for third parties to recognize the quality of the publication."
No corporate or individual entries can be submitted for consideration. A survey pool of 4,000 analysts and portfolio managers selects winners for these awards. The award category is divided into three levels based on the company's market capitalization. CarMax received the award in the small- to mid-cap category.
"In a tight package, it presents its story, goals and results," said one judge. "It has a good use of graphics to illustrate its markets."
