Roland Berger Pens Column For Automotive Design & Production

DETROIT, April 7 -- Automotive Design & Production magazine has added a new monthly column on management strategy, technology and automotive perspectives, beginning with its April edition.

Prepared by industry experts from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' global automotive practice, the monthly columns will include insights on global management and manufacturing strategies, technology-adoption trends, growth markets and other topics.

"Our readers will benefit from Roland Berger's observations and recommendations on how to navigate sea changes in the global automotive business," said Gary Vasilash, the magazine's editor-in-chief. "Roland Berger has outstanding industry experience, in-depth research and highly regarded and experienced professionals to support their insights."

Roland Berger's first column in the April issue of Automotive Design & Production discusses the growing use of modules in the automotive industry for managing design complexities, as well as for gaining manufacturing efficiencies and brand differentiation. It was co-written by Ralf Kalmbach, a partner in Roland Berger's Munich office, and Mahesh Lunani, a partner based in Detroit.

A May column by Dr. Thomas Sedran, a partner in Roland Berger's automotive practice in Munich, and Antonio Benecchi, a partner based in Detroit, will focus on the promising, yet volatile marriage between the electronics and automotive industries.

"We are pleased to contribute to Automotive Design & Production magazine," said Wim van Acker, managing partner of Roland Berger Strategy Consultant's North American Automotive Practice. "Our objective is to provide the magazine's readers with interesting, strategic perspectives on issues facing the automotive industry."
