FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CAMARENA READY TO “ROCKET” IN HOUSTON PLACENTIA, Calif. (April 5, 2005) – Freddie Camarena, owner/rider of the Embee Performance/Clay Smith Cams/Racegirl Suzuki TL 1000 is ready for the second stop of the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle season at the April 8-10 O’Reilly Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park April. “Houston is a great venue for the bikes. Atmospheric conditions are usually really good for us. Everybody likes this event,” Camarena explained. “How could we not be excited for this event? We just got a new associate sponsorship deal with Clay Smith Cams, we have a new combo that seems promising, I’ve been working out and getting in shape – we are ready,” Camarena added. Qualifying is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. local time on Friday and continues on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. NHRA members can follow the action via live Internet coverage on NHRA.com. “Last month in Gainesville (Fla.), for the fourth qualifying run, we tried a new combination to see if we could lay down a big number. While we didn’t get the number we were hoping for, we saw that there is potential with this combination,” Camarena said. The team expects to take the information gleaned from that last qualifying attempt and use it to their advantage in Houston. With some minor tweaking, they anticipate the red, white, and blue motorcycle to be a strong contender. “We had four consistent runs in Florida and we are building on that momentum right now. We just need to keep ourselves focused and moving forward,” he added. Last year, Camarena qualified in the 16th position for the event but did not make it past the first round of eliminations. Camarena expects to run a limited schedule for the 2005 season unless a primary sponsor is signed.
