TRG - Fontana race
repeat podium
TRG drivers Marc Bunting and Andy Lally strengthened their lead in Rolex
Sports Car Series GT championship standings with their second-consecutive
podium of the season, their 13th podium in the last 15 race starts together.
They had a clean, strategic run in the No. 65 Auto Gallery/TRG Porsche 911
GT3 Cup car to finish second in the GT class in the Rolex Series race at
California Speedway. Their teammates Colin Braun and Brad Coleman weren't as
fortunate in the No. 64 Team16 Porsche. After racing as high as fourth in
GT, a problematic pit stop cost them a lap and left them 13th at the finish.

Colin Braun, Team16/TRG No. 64:
"Brad did a great job starting the race for us. He put us in fourth
position, but we had an unfortunate pit stop that set us back a lap."
Brad Coleman, Team16/TRG No. 64:
"We drove our best and were in position to finish in the top-five when we
faced a bad pit stop, followed by some back luck and yellow [caution]
flags."
Marc Bunting, Auto Gallery/TRG No. 65:
"It was a good race. We qualified further back than we would have liked –
the BMWs were awful fast. But we were fortunate to end up second, so it
turned out great for us. We'd like to be one higher on the podium, but we
continued our streak of podium finishes."
Andy Lally, Auto Gallery/TRG No. 65:
"It was quite eventful in the beginning when I was battling with some of the
Beemers [BMWs]. At the end, it was just head down trying to catch them, but
that's utterly impossible – those things were flying. But we finished P2 and
we opened up our lead in the points."
