Autosport Development GMAC / Trenton Forging #5 GTO Qualifying Report
Hayner, to start St. Petersburg GT race from 18th position

St. Petersburg, Fla. – April 1 2005 Autosport Development driver, Stu
Hayner [GMAC Commercial Finace / Trenton Forging #5 GTO], will start
Sunday’s SPEED World Challenge GT race in 18th position. The Autosport
Development team is in St. Petersburg for the Honda Grand Prix of St.
Petersburg, April 1st-3rd where the SPEED World Challenge Series will
appear with the Indy Racing League's debut road race. The track is a
1.8 mile street course. The World Challenge races will air on EE
Channel Sunday April 10th with the Touring Cars at 1pm and the GT cars
at 2pm.

“We’ll have to pick up the pace from 18th,” said Hayner. “We started
the weekend with an under steer condition and may have over corrected.
The car now has a tendency to over steer exiting the corner. It’s a
trick to find that balance… especially with this being a brand new race
car. A street course lined with cement walls makes you think twice
about seeking out the cars limits.”

“I have the utmost confidence in our guys,” said Hayner. “Everyone is
on the same page and is taking a methodical approach to sorting the car
out. We have a much broader range of set-up options than we’ve had in
the past, so it’s just a matter of being patient and finding out how
the car responds to different changes.”

Team owner, David Moxlow, concurred. “We’re sorting this car out under
race conditions and, as Stu mentioned, doing it on a street course
requires that we stay conservative in our test set ups. We rely on
Stu’s feedback and let him take the lead on how far to go with things.
It’s his call. We’ll put a good car under him and let him make the
decision on how hard to push. I’m expecting we’ll have a good race.”

Autosport Development competes as part of the SPEED World Challenge GT
Series. All events are nationally televised on SPEED channel (formerly
Speedvision). In 2005 the SPEED World Challenge Series schedule will
include street races in Denver and St. Petersburg, and make the
traditional stops around the country at great tracks like Sebring, Road
Atlanta, Lime Rock Park, Infineon, Mosport, Cleveland, Portland, Road
America, Mid-Ohio and Laguna Seca.
