Market Scan's Answer to ePencil; Dealers Can't Say Enough about Pre-Released Versions of Market Scan's Latest Product

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--March 30, 2005--Market Scan Information Systems launched a new product for its Desking Module called mPencil(TM). Market Scan's mPencil(TM) gives sales staff and customers a starting point by offering customers a multitude of payments. mPencil(TM) displays payment options for multiple terms based on different amounts of customer cash. mPencil(TM) also provides side-by-side comparisons of finance and lease payments over multiple terms. mPencil(TM) calculates payments from lenders' lease and finance data, then displays results through the familiar touch-screen interface.

The beta testing period for mPencil(TM) began late last year in prominent dealerships across the country. The product was very well received and highly recommended by the dealers who used it.

"Previously, we had not been using a software package for the closing process. Using the mPencil(TM) product presents a much more professional look and feel. It's a far cry from the hand written 'pencils' we were using before. It makes the finance and lease options much easier to explain to our customers and has dramatically increased our lease penetration. Aside from increasing our lease penetration, it has simplified my job of coaching our sales staff. I can't say enough about mPencil(TM)," said Bryan Baer, GSM/MIS Director of Budd Baer Automotive Group in Washington, Pa.

"Previously, we were using ePencil(a). ePencil(a) is a great source of information, but it's a little too complicated. mPencil(TM) takes us exactly where we need to be and simplifies the process by cutting down the number of software packages we have to use. It also allows us to tailor our quotes to exactly what our customers want to see without confusing them with too many facts," said Safi Nabi, GSM of Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys, Calif.

mPencil(TM) was launched on January 29th at the 2005 NADA Convention in New Orleans, La. and may be purchased as a part of Market Scan's Modular Dealership Suite or as a stand-alone product.

(a) ePencil is a trademark of the Cardone Group. Market Scan has no affiliation with the Cardone Group or its ePencil product.
