FORD FAMILY OF BRANDS TO BE ON VIEW AT SHANGHAI
SHANGHAI, China, March 29, 2005 -- Approximately 50 cars and trucks from across the Ford Motor Company family of brands will be on display at this year's Shanghai motor show, with executives from Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda and Volvo also attending to discuss their brands and new products for the growing Chinese automotive market.
Mark Schulz, executive vice president and president, Ford Asia Pacific & Africa, is scheduled to attend along with Mark Fields, executive vice president, Premier Automotive Group and Ford of Europe; Hans-Olov Olsson, president and chief executive officer, Volvo Cars; and Mei-Wei Cheng, Ford vice president and chairman and chief executive officer, Ford Motor China.
The displays will cover approximately 5,000 square meters in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The largest number of cars, trucks and technical displays will be from the Ford brand, which also will unveil four new concept vehicles at Shanghai. In addition to these, Ford will unveil four new cars never before seen in China.
Volvo plans seven displays and a concept car, and Jaguar and Land Rover, also included in the Premier Automotive Group, will have five displays each.
Mazda will have a total of 14 vehicles on display, including the all-new, third-generation MX-5 roadster, the newest version of the best-selling, two-seat sports car of all time.
Volvo will conduct their media briefings on the morning of April 20 at the Museum of Science and Technology, with Ford and Mazda to follow in the afternoon. Later that day, Ford and Mazda will host journalists at their show stands in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
