Utility Trailer Launches Nationwide ``Miles Ahead of the Competition'' Campaign

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.--March 29, 2005--Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company -- a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, refrigerated vans, and Tautliner(R) curtainsided trailers -- has just launched a major new nationwide campaign promoting the quality and durability of both their trailers and their aftermarket parts.

With the collaborative creativity and guidance of Utility's advertising agency, The Artime Group of Pasadena, CA, Utility decided on their boldest advertising approach yet. The refrigerated trailer's campaign headline reads "Miles Ahead of the Competition (but then we had quite a headstart)" and leads the print advertising campaign. The advertising theme is also prominently featured on the Utility show trailers featured at the 2005 MATS event in Kentucky.

"Utility already has the #1 selling refrigerated trailer in the nation with our 3000R and now with the 4000D-X(TM) dry van, we really feel like we're ahead of the game," said Utility's Craig Bennett, Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing. "I like what this campaign is saying, when you consider we've been in this business for more than 90 years, we do have quite a head start in quality, innovation and engineering standards. We've managed to keep a solid reputation with our customers and we're going to continue to move ahead. That's what this new campaign is all about."

Both the 3000R and the 4000D-X(TM) are built to the historically durable expectations Utility is known for, but there are obvious differences in the capabilities. The 3000R is lighter in weight than comparably equipped reefers, which means huge productivity gains with greater payloads in a refrigerated van. The 4000D-X(TM) is the functional equivalent to a plate trailer, but offers the ease of the conventional reparability of a sheet and post trailer.

Complementing the trailer campaign is a new awareness campaign for Utility's aftermarket parts. Running along side the trailer advertising and at major trade shows, the parts campaign introduces Utility's Aftermarket Parts new logo and new tagline, "The Parts you need from the Name You Trust." More than 100,000 truck and trailer parts are available from the 100 Utility Trailer dealers throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

"Our parts business has been steadily increasing and we realized that this growth is due to the convenience of having our truck and trailer parts stocked by our dealers throughout North America, ensuring that they are readily available for both owner operators and fleets," said Mike Moore, Director of Aftermarket Parts. "We realized that now is the time to spread the word and let everyone know that we have a convenient and reliable source for parts."

The new advertising began in March and is featured in major trucking trade publications in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
