The new model is positioned as the first seven-passenger 4x4 that is "Jeep Trail-Rated." The design embodies classic Jeep styling, based on its military heritage, which includes an upright and rugged appearance.

Off-road capability and on-road refinement were requirements of the new vehicle, so the tires had to match the package.

The Goodyear Fortera tires are known for their smooth ride and rugged appearance. A high-performance tread compound delivers excellent traction in wet or dry conditions, while a computer-optimized tread pattern promotes a quiet ride. The tire size selected for the Jeep Commander is P245/65R17.

Goodyear tires are original equipment on many vehicles from Acura, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercury, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota. Traditionally, more new vehicles in North America are equipped with Goodyear tires than any other brand.
