KCR Nashville Preview
Robinson leads team to music city
Shawna Robinson and the Keith Coleman Racing team return to action this weekend in the Pepsi 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway.
The team is confident heading into the weekend, providing the weather cooperates.
“I’m excited about going to Nashville,” said Robinson. ‘We’ve got a strong car and I really think we can have a good showing in the Music City. We just need the rain to hold off so we can get on the track.”
It is an important race weekend for the #23 Vassarette Chevrolet as the top 30 teams in owner points are guaranteed a starting spot each week and the team currently stand 37 points out of the top 30. A strong showing in Nashville could vault KCR into the top 30.
“No one is satisfied with the results this year, including Shawna,” said crew chief Kenneth Campbell. “We’ve had some bad luck at a couple of races that has cost us several positions, but the bottom line is we expect to do better and we will continue to work as hard as we can to get where we need to be.”
The team will travel to Nashville on Thursday evening after testing at Bristol Motor Speedway. Two practices will be held on Friday while qualifying will take place on Saturday morning. The race will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. central time and will air on FX.
