TriMas Corporation Appoints Joshua Sherbin as General Counsel

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., March 24 -- TriMas Corporation -- a diversified growth company of high-end, specialty niche businesses manufacturing a variety of products for commercial, industrial and consumer markets worldwide -- announced today that it recently appointed Joshua A. Sherbin as general counsel.

Based at the corporate headquarters in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Sherbin has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and coordination of TriMas legal activities worldwide. In addition, he will coordinate activities relating to SEC filings, business acquisition and litigation, and will assist corporate officers with strategic legal challenges.

Sherbin has more than 15 years experience in both private and corporate legal environments. Most recently, he was the North American corporate counsel and corporate secretary for Valeo, Inc., a diversified Tier 1 international automotive supplier headquartered in Europe. Based in Auburn Hills, Mich., he managed the legal function involving Valeo's North American business units, which had 10,000 employees and $1.8 billion in annual sales, by coordinating strategic legal issues with corporate general counsel.

Prior to Valeo, Sherbin was the senior counsel, assistant corporate secretary for Kelly Services, Inc., a premier employment staffing company in Troy, Mich. He provided support to mergers and acquisitions, international operations and the sales organization for Fortune 500 companies engaged in multiple industries.

He initiated his career as an associate with Butzel Long in Detroit, dealing with general business practice, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, federal and state securities, compliance, commercial lending and general commercial agreements.

Sherbin earned a bachelor of arts degree from Kalamazoo College in Mich. and a Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University in Detroit. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and Illinois State Bar Association.
